and on the streets tonight. here's the story, the police arrested 22 gary fight, jr. on march 1st accused of robbing a bank and holding a gun to the teller's head. but the sheriff's department released him 22 hours later because there were no charges or warrants against him. >>> the f.b.i. says the investigators simply missed a deadline for the paperwork. police say they're looking into what happened and they're trying to get feist back into custody. >> friends and family gathered for a prayer service for the victim today. osavado and her 23-year-old son and 15-year-old died saturday night when they were hit by an alleged drunk driver. the night of the crash, tests showed that the suspect, 20-year-old dennis telecedo had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. he's facing 15 years in prison if convicted of all three charges. the victim's family is asking for that maximum sentence. >> he took three lives of my family. yeah, i do feel like he does deserve the worst sentence that he deserves. >> he is in jail scheduled to be back in court next week. >> a change of direction in heyward. l

police arrested 22-year-old gary fike jr. on march 1st after robbing a bank, stealing thousands of dollars and terrorizing the employees and customers by holding a gun to a teller's head. four days later he was released from the county jail in martinez. the contra costa sheriff's department says they had to let him go. the agency didn't have any warrant or other charges to continue holding the man. >>> a 25-year-old man is in custody tonight after carjacking a taxi and then being involved in an officer-involved shooting. police say the man carjacked a taxi early this morning in the pacific heights neighborhood. when the cops finally caught up to him, he rammed the police cruiser and almost hit the officer. that's when another officer fired his gun. bullets hit the taxi but not the suspect. police did ultimately find that taxicab a few blocks away and the suspect as well. he was arrested on suspicion of carjacking and assaulting a police officer. >>> three lives lost in a devastating daily city car crash were remembered today in a prayer vigil organized by the archdiocese of san

in america. gary bower, the evangelical leader in the united states, wrote something for "usa today" this week that caught my attention and i'll share it with our audience. as an evangelical, i was delighted that the last two popes were moral and theological giants, john paul ii and benedict roxvi introduced an er in which the cathric church offers confident rebuttal to the false promises of the secular world. how would you like to see pope francis influence american political debates? we have so many of them, whether it's abortion or gay marriage, how would you like to see that impact? >> i think he simply has to preach the gospel and then do it in a way that is accessible and the holy spirit makes the impact, we believe. conversion of heart and mind is not something any pope or preacher can do. that depends upon god's grace, but you have to prooech the gosp gospel, and he'll do that. in a sense, you can say there is no god and freud is his praufrt, so for the sake of sexual liberation, we're allowing a lot of things to be let go. we'll see what happens. we can only trust that the
